STILLING, Curtis John

May 14, 1993 – Calgary, AB

February 10, 2014 – Lethbridge, AB

 Our heartbroken family sadly announces the sudden passing of our beautiful son and brother Curtis.

He was the kindest, most gentle soul a person could meet, He was born and grew up in Calgary and attended Killarney, AE Cross and graduated from Masters Academy in 2011. Curtis went on to get his 1st year electrical apprenticeship while working for Bison. He then decided to go to University of Lethbridge in Management. He loved the school and all the new friends and classmates.

Curtis played Trails West Hockey, where he won many Esso Minor Hockey Weeks, and City Championships. He also played baseball in Calgary West Little League from minors through seniors. Summers were spent out at Shuswap Lake. He loved boating, water skiing, wake boarding, swimming, and especially golfing at Salmon Arm Golf Club. Curtis also got a hole-in-one when he was golfing with all his friends ! He will be greatly missed by our dogs Prince and Princess.

Curtis is survived by parents John and Susan, brothers Mike and Brian, grandparents Ken and Shirley Gochanour, Anne Stilling, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and he was predeceased by grandpa Harry Stilling.

A Celebration of Curtis’ Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Those attending the Celebration, please wear something blue, Curt’s favorite color. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, an account at TD Canada Trust, Westhills is set up. This will benefit the sports clubs Curtis played for.

In living memory of Curtis Stilling, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone:  403-243-8200.

  4. Marielee & Gerry Wolfe & Family :

    Dear John, Susan, Michael, and Brian;
    As your former across the street neighbours we loved seeing your beautiful boys playing outside. Few kids played as hard and joyously as your wonderful boys. We remember the laughter, the front lawn covered with toys, and the impromptu games that brought the rest of the neighbour kids running. You were and are a great family. May you find comfort and peace in the days ahead as you grieve the loss of Curtis.
    Bless you,
    Gerry, Marielee Wolfe & Family

  12. Dear John, Sue, Mike and Brian.

    Julie, Taylor and I are deeply saddened by reading of Curtis’ passing. I have fond memories of Curt at the rinks having to be patient waiting for Taylor and Mike to complete their games.
    Though Curt’s human experience was short I believe his spiritual journey continues. You are both great parents! When I am at the Shuswap I will have a very special thought.

    Take care
    Wes
