Margaret passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the age of 62 years after a long illness.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 38 years, Andrew; her children Eric of New York City and Patricia of Ottawa, and her sister Joan Catterson of Ottawa. She was predeceased by her mother Dorothy Annette Catterson in 2009 and her father William Manson Catterson in 1993.
Margaret was born in Montreal, Quebec and grew up in Oakville, Ontario. She attended the University of Toronto, obtaining both her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Business Administration degrees. She began her career at the University of Waterloo as a systems analyst. Over the next ten years she worked at BC Hydro, Foothills Hospital and Home Oil in a variety of increasingly responsible positions in the Information Systems field. Subsequently, she chose to end her professional career and devote her time to her family. She loved music, taking piano and French horn lessons and was a proud member of the Foothills Concert Band and Rocky Mountain Concert Band. Margaret received wonderful medical services during her illness. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ghatage, the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the other Alberta Health Services personnel for their compassionate care.
