  6. Dear Dean,Connie and Family :

    Dear Dean, Connie and Family
It was such a shock to hear of Uncle Mario’s passing, as we saw him the Tuesday before. We spent New Years Eve, and Elvis’s Birthday gala with him in January and had a great time. We are so glad that we were in Palm Springs for the winter because we had Uncle Mario for dinner several times and he reciprocated by putting on a lovely luncheon that he cooked himself only a week before his passing. He loved to entertain. We will miss his stories and his never ending smile and sense of humour. Love Clay, Diane and Family

  15. Dean & Connie, sorry to hear of your dads passing. as you get older and keep losing family members, it makes you a little numb. but it still leaves a void in your life. the worst is you begin to lose touch with everyone. hope you are both in good health and are enjoying life. Our vacation and days off are picked a year in advance so I don’t believe will be able to make the services. Take care, Randy, Terri and family

  18. Dean and Connie,
So sorry to red of Mario’s passing. He was a great guy. We’ll all miss him at men’s nights at the golf course. I will always remember his generosity when as a youngster, I would slide by “Mario’s” for a nickel bag of candies. He’d usually toss in some free ones. Your Dads generosity to his community will be remembered. Take care.

  19. Our family is sorry to hear of the passing of our friend Mario Stella. We had the fortunate opportunity to meet Mario a few years ago. We loved his warm, sincere nature and his easy smile. We very much enjoyed our many dinners, sitting poolside in the balmy weather, drinking wine (Italian of course), discussing real estate, politics, food, wine and his beloved Italy. He always expressed a keen interest in our children, how they were doing in school and what activities they we involved in. Our children adored Mario! We quickly developed a great respect for Mario and we all admired him tremendously. Our thoughts are with the family.

We were so sorry to hear about the passing of a dear old friend. He phoned us in Palm Desert last year and he just wanted to talk about old times and bring him up to date as to what was going on. We never did get together and we are so sorry about that. The Stella family were great friends with my grand parents, Alesandro and Maria Rizzuto from Fernie, BC. Our thoughts are with the family. God Bless you all.

Sincerely Delva and Arnie Thiele. Calgary.

  27. Dear Dean and Connie,

Mario and Rosetta have been a force of life, energy and support through my parents, Lucy and Bob’s, lives. From book club to lunches to church to a friendly smile…I know the four of them are united and probably walking together as we speak. I know these are tender moments and we need you to know you are not alone. You have mine and my family’s promise to remain connected, to be present and be there for each other…as our parents were and taught us to be. With much love and care – Ralph Strother.

  29. Marion Mascaro :

The Stella Family: My deepest sympathy. When Frank and I moved to Calgary in 1958, it was so great to find your Dad and meet Rosetta, and living in the same area. Frank went to school with Mario and since I worked at the Turtle Mountain Playgrounds also knew a lot of the kids from the Pass. It made coming to Calgary, like coming home since so many of those we grew up with were here.. Frank is gone now too, so perhaps they are renewing friendship on a higher plain. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Marion Mascaro
