STEELE, Arthur (Art) Gilbert

October 24, 1929 – July 27, 2012

Art Steele of Calgary passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the age of 82 years.

Art is survived by his wife Maureen, stepdaughter Eileen and her husband Gerry Janzen of Indiana, his sister Gertrude Robinson of Toronto and numerous other family members. Art was predeceased by his former wife Eleanor in 2003 and several siblings.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. A reception will be held at McInnis & Holloway following interment. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Art was an active Volunteer Driver for the Canadian Cancer Society for 10 years, and if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Volunteer Driver Program, 200 – 325 Manning Rd. N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 2P5

  5. TO MY FRIEND ART WHO I LOVED LIKE A BROTHER, WE WERE IN GERMANY TOGETHER, GOOD TRUCK DRIVERS, GREAT FRIENDS AND IF ALL TRUTH BE SAID AND DONE, WE WERE FAMILY. SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS MAUREEN, I ALSO LOVED ART TO A POINT WHERE HE USED TO PEA ME OFF BUT THAT WAS ART. WE ALL GOT TO LOVE HIM AND RESPECT HIM AS HE DID FOR US.
