Adelmo Carmine Stante, beloved husband of Anna of Calgary, Alberta passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the age of 89 years, surrounded by his loving family. Adelmo, born in Fossacesia, Italy, grew up a fisherman until he was called to serve his country in the Second World War. Adelmo immigrated with his newlywed, Anna, to Canada in 1951 where he began a career with the City of Calgary as an inspector in the Water Works division for thirty-one years. He enjoyed retirement dedicated to his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, wine-making, politics and philosophical debates around the kitchen table. Adelmo loved learning and sharing his knowledge and stories. He was also a very talented artist and writer and believed in honesty, integrity and fairness. He was a proud Canadian and contributed generously to his community.
Adelmo is survived by his loving wife, Anna; daughter, Marilyn Stante; sons, Luciano “Sano” (Minette), Domenic, and Glenn (Erika); eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by two brothers, Luigi (Anna) and Tonino (Nicoletta); three sisters, Angela, Alberina and Maria Elena. Adelmo was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters.

A Celebration of Adelmo’s Life will be held McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
