Joyce Stafford of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the age of 84 years.
Joyce was born on October 30, 1923 in Sheffield England. On February 11, 1946 Joyce married the love of her life Harold (Pat) Stafford. She immigrated to Canada as a war bride beginning a new life in Calgary. Her greatest weakness was children and this passion led her to a career as a loving and devoted foster mother. One of Joyce’s greatest achievements was taking her loved ones back to England to show them her family heritage. She spent many summers camping in Revelstoke with a tribe of many. Her favourite past time was doing crossword puzzles. Having Polio never stopped Joyce from living life to its fullest and it is this determination that we will all hold close to our hearts.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Anita and Alvin McRae of Calgary; by five grandchildren, Jennifer, Veronica, Laurie, Debbie, and Didi; and by two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Tavis. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Pat Stafford and by her brother Donald Vaughn
