STABLES, David Brian

April 11, 1955 – July 9, 2012

Dave, the love of Diane’s life and cherished father of Darcy, Christine and Bradley passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday morning.

He is remembered by parents Tom and Gladys; brother Don, sisters Sharon Jaque (Kim) and Debbie Ricalton (Ken) and their families.

Dave grew up in Calgary and Springbank. The source of many stories were his Scout adventures and numerous paper routes. In 1978 he built a house in Cochrane where he and Diane raised their family. He followed his father into the construction industry and ran Stable Construction until 2002 when he was faced with the new challenge of quadriplegia. He will be remembered by his family as the master of all trivia and his love of a good family camping trip. He was always happiest when he was surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Dave’s life will be held at the Cochrane RancheHouse on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Donations in memory of Dave may be made to The William Watson Lodge Society (williamwatsonlodgesociety.com) or the Canadian Paraplegic Association – Calgary Chapter (cpa-ab.org). Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

  11. Mayor Truper McBride, Town of Cochrane Council and Administration :

On behalf of Mayor Truper McBride, Town of Cochrane Council and Administration, we wish to extend to you and your family our heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy on David’s passing.

David was a committed community volunteer who contributed many hours and significant energy to serve the people of Cochrane. In January 2007, David was appointed to the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board for a two-year term; he was then re-appointed for a three-year term which was to end in December 2012. As a measure of his dedication and talent, David was elected to committee chair by his fellow committee members; a position he had excelled in over the past four years.

All those who knew and worked with David held him in high esteem and deeply appreciated his contributions to making Cochrane a better place. He will be sorely missed.
