Antonio Spadafora, beloved husband of Serafina of Calgary, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, September 25, 2004 at the age of 73 years.
Antonio was born in San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1960. He retired from the City of Calgary Parks and Recreation where he helped to beautify our city parks for over twenty-two years. Antonio was respected in his community for his intelligence and willingness to help others in need. He found peace and fulfillment in simple things like storytelling, the presence of his family and spending time outdoors.
Left behind to carry on his traditions are his devoted wife of forty-nine years, Serafina; his four children, Biagio, Giuseppe (Dana), Rosa Papas (Louis), and Giulia; and his priceless grandchildren, Teddi, Vanessa, Alexander, and Olivia. Also left to remember him are his two sisters, Teresa Mele (Domenico) of Kelowna and Lucia Talerico (Giuseppe) of Italy; and brother Salvatore Spadafora (Rosetta) of Calgary; and special brother-in-law Salvatore Bitonti (Teresa) of Calgary. Antonio will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
