SOLDA, Paolo

July 7, 1922 – Lonigo, Italy
April 19, 2014 – Calgary, AB

Our dad, Paolo Solda, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on April 19, 2014 at the age of 91 years.

Paolo was born in Lonigo, Italy. He served in the Italian Military and was a P.O.W. in Germany. Paolo came to Calgary in 1957 to make a better life for his family. His wife Emma and two of his children joined him a year later. He worked as a skilled carpenter for PCL until his retirement. He was a member of the Italian Club where he and Emma enjoyed their love of dancing. He loved his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Paolo is survived by his children, Wanda (Tony), Sanguin, Claude (Deborah) Solda, and Robert (Nancy) Solda; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. We would like to thank all the staff at Aspen Lodge, where dad lived for the last five years. We also thank the nursing staff of Unit 29 at PLC for the excellent care during his last days.

In living memory of Paolo Solda, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH, Telephone: 403-276-2296.
