Emma Solda, beloved wife of Paolo of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the age of 88 years.
She was a woman ahead of her time in thinking and she was an inspiration to anyone who met her. Emma had a great sense of humour and instilled a sense of family pride and values. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her especially her grandchildren.
She joined her husband in Canada, in July 1958 to begin a new life. Despite the hardships and language barrier, she never gave up the fortitude and determination for their dream. As a result she was blessed with the reward of a large and loving family, and many friends.
Emma is survived by her husband of sixty-five years Paolo; her children, Wanda (Tony) Sanguin, Claude (Deborah) Solda and Robert (Nancy) Solda; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Andreina Fasolin of Italy.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
