SNOW, Michael (Mike) Richard

SNOW, Michael (Mike) Richard
April 18, 1987 – Calgary, AB
July 29, 2014 – Morley, AB

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of a beloved and cherished son Michael (Mike) Richard Snow. Mike arrived April 18, 1987 during a late winter storm and was called home by our Creator in the dawns early light on Tuesday July 29, 2014 at the age of 27 years

He was the only child of Bruce Snow and the late Kimberley Fox, a shining star and ray of light. Mike will be remembered for his charm, sense of humour and that mischievous twinkle in his eye. He was a person who enjoyed life and treated those he loved and cared for with honor and respect. Friendly, outrageous and proud, Mike always had a hug for his friends or a story to tell. He attended Exshaw School and Canmore Collegiate where he made many lifelong friends. He played football for the Victoria Rebels after high school and most recently completed a course in audio-technical training.

Mike was the pride and joy of his parents. A prankster since childhood he liked to tease his mother and play golf with his father. To his father he was Punkass and affectionately so, to Mike his father was also Punkass. His personality was larger then life and he will never be forgotten. His father will miss him greatly and hold close to him a life time of memories.

An only child “Sweeties” leaves to mourn brothers and sisters he made throughout his life. Left holding precious memories are his father Bruce; his grandmothers, Clara Ruby Snow “Ĩna” and Tina Fox “Gramma”; his uncles Tom and Hank Snow, Lionel Wildman and Trent Fox; his aunties, Margaret, Verna and Violet Snow, Glenda Crawler, Terry and Neisha Fox, Glenna, Millie and Tami Wildman; and numerous other relatives and close friends. Mike was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Tom Snow, maternal grandfather Kent Fox and numerous relatives too many to mention.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Clara Ruby Snow (Morley, AB) on Saturday, August 2, 2014 and Sunday, August 3, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at Morley United Church (Morley, AB) on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Wesley Cemetery (Morley, AB). Forward condolences through

In living memory of Mike Snow, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Cochrane, 369 RAILWAY STREET, COCHRANE. Telephone: 403-932-4740.

Condolence Messages

  1. Anita & Brad McFeeters :

To all of Mike’s family and friends.
We send our heart felt condolences. Mike was my son Evan’s childhood friend. They started out their friendship attending Exshaw School and continued to graduate high school together in Canmore. Mike and Evan continued their friendship into adulthood.
Was a refreshing breath of fresh air whenever Mike was around. Mike’s personality was happy and joyful. Will miss his happy spirit!
Mike may your spirit soar with the eagles forever!

  2. Roger A. Boyer II & Family :

To the Fox and Snow Families,
It is with great sorrow and sadness that we provide our condolences to all of you. For the eight years, Tammy and I lived in Morley, the families were welcoming and loving of the both of us. I had the great pleasure of coaching Mike in Canmore as well as had him apart of our Wesley First Nation Youth Program. Mike was a natural born leader and had great potential to move his family and people in the direction of progression and purpose. When we heard about this great loss, we were confused. How could this happen from such a strong traditional family?

May the strength of our Creator and your family pull you all through this tragedy. Big Mike, you will be missed but your values of leadership will continue through the lives you touched, including mine.

We love you all and your families will be in our prayers. Ish Nish.

  3. Jim and Esmé Comfort :

We send love and wishes for healing to Mike’s family and friends. He was a teammate of our son, and a rock for the players. We cannot know the pain that his absence brings but as parents, cousins, aunts, uncles – members of families – ourselves, we can imagine. We grieve with you and pray for brighter days.
