Jack Smithson, beloved husband of Geraldine Smithson of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the age of 80 years.
Jack worked for Sask. Tel, A.G.T and Alberta One Call for over fifty years. He was an active parishioner at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and a morning fixture at the Talisman Centre. Jack’s passion was gardening.
Jack is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, John Smithson and Toby Herrig, Jeff and Sherri Smithson, Mike and Rhonda Smithson; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Jamie Hendrick; three grandchildren Sean Herrig, Megan Smithson, and Matthew Smithson. He is also survived by his sister Bernice Powell; brothers Ken and Morley Smithson; sister-in-law Rosalie Mlazgar and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Ruby Zimmer and Joyce Uhl and infant sister Marguerite Smithson.

Calgary, AB) on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church (5340 – 4th Street S.W.) on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow in the Good Shepherd Cemetery at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
