SMITH, Brian Wilson

January 8, 1951 – August 19, 2013

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Wilson Smith of Turner Valley.

Brian was a proud native Calgarian. He was a natural athlete and his captivating personality endeared him to an extensive circle of friends. He lived for his family, camping, travelling, sporting events and times spent together.

Brian is survived by his loving wife Ellen, the joy of his life, son Scott, his grand pets CJ and Webster; he is also survived by five sisters, one brother and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother and a sister. Smitty will also be missed by his many life long friends from Mount Royal College, the oil and gas industry, hockey, golf and football.

A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to The Oilympics Charity Hockey Tournament www.oilympics.com

  7. I am at a loss for words. I always looked up to him as an athlete and. often talked about his hockey abilities to my son Gavin . Such as going to watch him play when I was a child. Having him take us for rides in his small sports car. Experiences and memories I will always remember.
