Miguel beloved son of Alan Slimm of Guelph, ON and Pauline Skyers of Toronto, ON, passed away on May 10, 2014 at the age of 20 years.
Miguel was born August 2nd 1993, at the Mississauga General Hospital in Ontario. Over the span of his life, Miguel lived in several different cities in Ontario including Mississauga, Toronto and Guelph; before moving to Alberta and settling in Calgary. He worked as a paint educator and volunteered with several children and youth charities, including World Vision. Miguel was an avid mountain climber, bicycle racer, snowboarder, runner, guitar player and video gamer. He loved his family and the moments he got to share with them; especially beating his dad at Scrabble and listening to music. His most memorable vacations included Christina Lake, B.C., Kentucky and Florida. Miguel’s young carefree spirit will be missed by all the people that love him dearly.
Besides his mother, father and step-mother, Miguel is survived by his siblings, Nashambi, Danzel and Monique; his two nieces Eliana and Catalaya; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. A Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
