Sinclair, Clementine Maria (nee Celli)

April 23, 1935 – Coleman, Alberta
February 6, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta

Clem of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully at the Southwood Hospice on February 6, 2014 with the comfort of her family by her side at the age of 78 years.

Clem was born and raised in Coleman, Alberta and studied nursing at Mount Royal College and later at the Holy Cross School of Nursing. She completed her training and started working at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary, AB. After a quick change of scenery as owner and operator of the Britannia Health Studio, Clem went back to work at the Holy Cross Hospital before a 12 year nursing adventure to Honolulu, Hawaii where she nursed at the State Prison until her retirement in Calgary.

Clem is survived by her children Robert Sinclair, David Sinclair (Dawna), her two grandchildren Greg, Derek and Heather Wieler (Nick); her sister Del James (Charlie), her niece Karen James (Emma) Michael Clarke, and nephew Gary James (Corrina) and their children Colton, Brayden, Kai and her friends from past and present.

Clem had mischief in her heart and soul and she sometimes marched to the beat of her own drum, that’s what made Clem who she was.

As we say goodbye to her, we know she lived a full life with few regrets. We know she would not want us to grieve for her, but to celebrate the colorful life force that she represented.

A Celebration of Clem’s life will be held on February 10, 2014 between 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. For further information please contact Heather, Rob or Dave. Condolences may be forwarded through

  4. Sue (Andruschuk) Ridewood :

I remember Clem fondly. She was great friends with my Mom, Lil Andruschuk, when I was a child — and Mom always spoke so highly of her.
The year after Mike and I married we spent almost three weeks on O’ahu and Clem was a most gracious and helpful host and tour guide. We met her friends, she toured us around the island, and gave us insider tips on having the best Hawaiian vacation. She even collected Mike and me (and our suitcases) from our hotel on our last day in Honolulu, dropped us at her apartment and gave us a key, then headed off to work trailing advice about where to eat our final dinner. I will remember Clem as funny, independent, compassionate, resourceful, resolute, determined, steadfast, unique. I was proud to call her Auntie Clem.
    My condolences to you all
