The family regretfully announces the passing of Geraldine (Gerri) M. Sherman of Calgary on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at the age of 75 years.
Gerri was born on July 21, 1929 in Halifax, NS. In 1961 on March 17, she and her late husband Harold arrived in Calgary after a journey heading west. Gerri was a long-time employee of Woolco (Wal-Mart), retiring in 1997. Shortly after retiring mom and dad’s plans were halted by the passing of her beloved husband Harold in September 1997. However the strength of this “Mighty Little Woman” carried on with the numerous hours she spent with her cherished grandchildren “aka” (Her Little Chicks). She was and always will continue to be the pillar of strength that many could turn to and count on for love and support. Forever in our thoughts and hearts. Mom and gramma we will miss you so.
Gerri is survived by her family, Hal and Dianne Sherman and their children, Drew, Evan, Alexandra (Alex) and Nicolas Sherman; Dawn Sherman (Angelo) and their children Taeler and Harrison Squittieri; and extended family, Kevin and Cheryl McCormick, Kenny and Claire McCormick and their children, Brandy, Natalie and Kyle and great-granddaughter Kaydence, and Karen Killam and their family; as well as a sister and brother-in-law, Myrna and Paul Lirette and family. She was predeceased by her husband Harold in 1997 and her father Everett Armstrong in 1982.
