It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Shaw on Thursday, June 20th 2013 at the age of 84 years.

Gerald was born on August 15, 1928 in Victoria, NB, and was raised in Hartland, NB. He received his B.Sc from Dalhousie University in 1949, and shortly after enlisted in the Canadian Army, and was briefly called to service in 1950. He was honourably discharged in 1955. Of all his volunteer activities, he was particularly proud of his contributions to the 1988 Winter Olympics. His other passions included golf, fishing, skiing, and spontaneous vagabonding. His devotion to activity and friendship was epitomized through annual ski trips to Whitefish, Montana. 5. I’m afraid that I won’t be able to attend the Celebration of Gerry’s life because of my condition and the situation with Calgary roads due to the floods. To me, Gerry was Haliburton and I gave him all of my business. He was a super salesman and a great friend. I will miss him.

  8. Ginger Bradley :

I was very sorry to hear of Gerry’s passing. We met through the Sunshine Snowhost program and skied together and carpooled as well. Gerry’s name often came up when talking to fellow skiers; I regret that I didn’t make time to visit him during his stay at Bethany. My condolences to his children and their families.

I wish Gerry endless days of deep powder and blue skies. He will be fondly remembered.
