  5. Barbara & Steve Morihiro :

We are old friends of Ben and we extend our sincere condolences to his loving family. We were fortunate to travel with Ben, and his parents, on a church trip to Europe many years ago. We treasured his sunny, cheerful outlook throughout our trip, even when our bus pulled up to a lovely hotel/dairy in the Swiss alps that featured a huge pile of manure under our windows. Ben just grinned and dubbed it the “Bandini Chalet.” We wish you much comfort and love. Steve and Barbara Morihiro

  8. I remember fondly our phone calls late at night, discussing basketball or the latest technology. He was always there to offer any help I needed with school, or with life in general and that I feel is the legacy he leaves behind. He would take time out of his busy life to impart wisdom, paired with a well-timed joke, to keep me thinking and on my toes. Ben’s intelligence, quick wit and compassion are traits of his that I would like to emulate and, as a family, let us all remember him for the fantastic human being that he really was.

  10. Maureen Mueller :

Dear Jutta, I met Ben during my freshman year of college in 1979, when I was attending Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Costa Mesa. Ben was a true friend and a great encouragement to me. He always kept us laughing with his wit, and he was so knowledgeable about so many interesting things! Amanda, your dad was respected and loved by anyone who knew him, and I know he loved you so much. God bless you Jutta and Amanda, and may He give you peace. Sincerely, Maureen Mueller
