Marjorie Sharegan was Promoted to Glory on January 6, 2013 at the age of 89 years, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Eldest daughter of Robert Heron and Hattie Gibson, born at Olds, raised at Innisfail, married to Jerry Sharegan, eventually settling in the village of Forest Lawn and lastly in Calgary. She won the Chamber of Commerce White Hatter best waitress award and worked many years at the Wave Café and Woodward’s McLeod room before retiring. Throughout her life, she remained a remarkable woman who embodied strength, courage, resilience, wisdom, curiosity, coupled with amazing memory and availability to make friends easily.
Marjorie is survived by two sons, Ron (Betty) and Glen; daughters, Donna Strickland and Roberta (Robert) Houle; brothers, Robert (Evelyn) Gibson and Donald (Jean) Gibson; brother-in-law Doug Gunderson; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Jerry; daughter Marlene Rose; sisters, Louise Gunderson and Dorothy Offer; brother-in-law Ken Offer; sister-in-law Joan Gibson; and son-in-law Murray Strickland.
Funeral Services will be held at Eastside Memorial Chapel, (5388 Memorial Dr. N.E) on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. A Graveside service will be held in the “Garden of the Last Supper” at Mountain View Memorial Gardens on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Marjorie’s memory to any charity of your choice.
