Condolence Messages

  1. Lynn (Gross) Ardiel :

Dear Sewall Family – many laughs and good times shared with the rink rat and his sister – and a lot of sad times too. Life never gives you more than you can handle and Al exemplified that when he lost his kids. I was priviledged to step a few steps in their shoes and help Al when he moved from Okotoks to Calgary. Great day for a few of us kids to spend a day with him……. Memories are worth sharing and keeping close to your heart, as Al always did. I will do that now as well. Glad you are all together now. You will be missed .

My sincere condolence. Al was always part of our family it seemed. He was the best source of family history with stories that would bring laughter or tears. The loss of a true Albertan and a gentleman.

Al was a great man, and friend to me and my family. We shared great tea and wonderful memories. He turned me on to things like; cribbage, prime rib, and some flavor of ice cream that I’ve only found in Canada. He loved being with the boys, and still to this day he made the best breakfast I’ve ever had! He got me out of trouble while in Canada and also got me into trouble a few times! Fair well my old friend until I see ya again! Love Pete

I was recently telling a story, which involved Al giving a “language class” to the minor hockey team, in which I was a team member. He very eloquently got across the meaning of the word “Atrocious”. He used it to describe how we were were playing…I am sure every one of those 18 kids has used that word at least once in the last 35 years and thought of Mr. Sewall. Rest in Peace Al.

  10. Bret Franks :

Al was not only a great friend, but like a Canadian father to a lot of American cowboys. I stayed with Al every time I could and he would pick us up at the airport every time we flew in. Cliff Norris and I paid his expenses to come watch us ride at the NFR in 1998 I think. I’ll never forget the smile on his face when I picked him up at the airport in Las Vegas, he was in Heaven. We had many memorable moments together that I cherish and won’t forget. He was grouchy sometimes but always had a soft heart. I loved Al Sewall and I know he loved me because he told me every time I called. He will be greatly missed by so many, I know there are many people that won’t be able to attend the services, because of all the rodeos going on right now but all the family and friends need to know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Adios Padnuh!!! Love Bret
