  10. I had the pleasure of having Joe live in my home for a short time during his teen years. He would often bring over his siblings to our home in Langdon to hang out and keep his family connection. My son Tom and Joe were good friends and I always had a house full of teenagers whether I liked it or not. Joe had an incredible sense of humour and was incredibly loving and gave me the moniker Momma Rachel. He has been a great friend to many people in my life including my grand daughter Taleigha and her Mom, Cara. It is sad that the world has lost such a vibrant light so early.

Wow, no words can express the passing of such a young caring, talented Soul. I had the pleasure of having Joe as part of my family from the time that he went to Chestermere High School, and many years after that especially when Joe and Cara become a couple it was a pleasure to have him in our lives. We went thru laughter and tears but still managed to rise above and keep in touch. He was and always will be Cara and Taleigha’s ( Joe Joe ♥). I always considered him as a son in law. Cara was a single mom with a lot of responsiblities with caring for her daughter, but that didn’t stop Joe he accepted Taleigha as a part of them and soon became best buddies with Taleigha, and also took on the responsiblities of a step Dad to Taleigha. Even after they parted their ways Joe still kept in touch with Cara and Taleigha and surprised them last summer by taking them up to Spray lakes to explore, and show Taleigha the mountains that Joe so much enjoyed going to. Cara just talked about him showing up to visit her the end of January and ringing the buzzer pretending that he was a pizza delivery guy. Always playing tricks and having fun.♥ My Heart goes out to all the Family during this time of grief especially Michelle (Will) and Kelly (Leigh) as no parent should ever have to go thru the heartache of saying good-bye to any of their children before their time ♥ God Bless you, sending you the Love and strength to get thru this. ♥♥

  12. Mike and Erna Mazer :

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Joe at Westjet and honestly did not know him well. I moved to a different department more than a year ago but I remember Joe. I lost a sister in January and a brother back in 1984 when I was a teenager. My 83 year old mother should not have buried two of her kids. I completely understand your feelings of Joes passing. The best people always seem to leave before their time should be up. My deepest condolences to Joes family and friends. Cherish your memories of him forever and he will never be forgotten.

  13. Natasha Quattrin (Dodsworth) :

I always have things all planned out before I say them, Or try to. But then when you go to talk or write the words down they just seem to fall apart. Putting the pieces back together is never easy. I fondly remember Joey. The first time I met him, I received a phone call from a mutual friend, asking if they could come hangout. My house was a popular hangout spot. (The basement!) I had never met Joey before and I am so glad I gave him the benefit of the doubt. (the mutual friend was known to know some interesting and also shady people.) We became fast friends. It seemed as though we had known each other for years, when that was an impossibility. Joey always made you feel like you were home, no matter where you were.

    I’ll miss you Joey. <3
