It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Ronald (Ron) Scott on Tuesday, August 9, 2005.
Ron was born on July 22, 1931 in Claresholm, AB and moved with his family to Medicine Hat, AB at the age of three and lived there until 1959 when he started a new chapter in his life in Calgary. Aside from short stints in Medicine Hat, Edmonton, AB and Vancouver, BC to help further his career, Ron remained in Calgary until his passing.
Ron’s love of the railroad had him spend the 1950’s with the CPR where he spent time in Medicine Hat, Drumheller, AB and Calgary. He desired to become a family man. Ron left the CPR and began to work with Canada Post, first as a Letter Carrier, then later as a Route Measurement Officer. Upon retiring in 1986, Ron and Jackie spent their time in Calgary visiting with friends and family; as well as playing cards, playing shuffleboard at the Legion and relaxing in their yard.
Ron leaves behind a family that loved him very much; his brother Doug (Florence) Scott of Saanichton, BC; his son Doug (Nancy) Scott of Medicine Hat; daughters, Jerri White (Joe Chapple), and Maxine Farrow (Doug Wiebe), both of Calgary; grandchildren, Clayton (Kat), Brandi White and Michael Eirich of Calgary, Afton and Alliott Scott of Medicine Hat; and great-grandson Jonah Eirich of Calgary. Ron was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Isabelle Scott; sister Rita Feeney; brother Ted Scott; his first wife Ruby Scott; son Brian Scott; and most recently his wife over thirty-one years, Jackie Scott.
A Private Family gathering will be held at Ron’s request. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre, 303 Forge Road S.E., Calgary, AB T2H 0S9 Telephone: (403) 253-5250.
