SCOTT – Josephine Anne

March 24 , 1932 – April 11, 2014

Josephine “Jo” Scott passed away peacefully with family at her side on April 11, 2014 following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of fifty-eight years, Charles Albert Scott. Their legacy lives on through their four children, Dr. Kenneth (Lynn) Scott, Dr. Selma Scott (Dr. Terry Stewart), Kathy (Cary) McGraw, Glenn (Cheryl) Scott; thirteen grandchildren; and five precious great-grandchildren, Shane, Chandra (Yan Giroux), Lisa, Sonja, Nadia (Jason Leavitt and children Alina, Max and Claire), Alina, James, Kealy (Justin Lambert and children Mitchell and Emmett), Nicole (Matthew Vander Griend), Julia, Matthew, Wesley and Cory.

Josephine was born in Domremy Saskatchewan. She trained as a psychiatric nurse in North Battleford. She was very proud of her Norwegian ancestry and will always be remembered for her dumplings, lefsa and grease monkeys. Josephine and Charles returned to Calgary to live out their retirement in 1986. Josephine was predeceased by her brother Otto and is survived by three siblings, Tharold, Clarence and Sonja.

Her children wish to thank their families and friends for their support to Josephine during her battle with Alzheimer’s. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Today she would wish for you to smile for her.

A Family Interment will be held in the “Military Field of Honour” at Queen’s Park Cemetery on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 1:30 p.m.  A Celebration of Josephine’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Condolence Messages

  1. Colette Sabourin and Cliff Patterson :

    Scott Family,
Cliff and I were lucky enough to spend many afternoons on Ken and Lynn’s front porch drinking wine with your Mom and Dad. Over the years we have enjoyed listening to their many wonderful tales and stories about their lives, travels, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We always knew we would have a fun afternoon with plenty of laughter when we were with them.
Please accept our sincerest condolences. We will always have fond memories of your Mother.
