  7. I am so very sad that we have lost my cousin Alexis. My sincerest condolences to her family. My sister and I had a great time with Alexis and Sandi when we were in Kenya in 2007. Since we live in Ohio, we don’t get a lot of chances to see our Canadian cousins. We really enjoyed that opportunity to get to know Alexis better. She was a bright spirit, and she will certainly be missed.

  21. How sad that we have lost someone as amazing as Alexis. My heart goes out to her parents, Sandi and Bill and all her siblings. Alexis, was a multi-talented professional and a person who danced to the sound of her own drum. May she rest in peace and may we all remember her as the sensitive, skilled and thoughtful woman she was. She made a difference for so many people both here and in Africa. She will be greatly missed!

  22. Loren Currie ( nee Himmelspach) :

I wanted to send my deepest condolences to all of you. Even though we only reconnected via Facebook over the last few years, I have very fond memories of Alexis. Growing up outside of Cochrane we went through many years of our schooling together, and even a few years of 4-H! I was also diagnosed with MS in 1993 – to me that is quite the coincidence. A few of us gals from the area have been living with autoimmune illnesses for years.

My mom and dad, Kaye and Herb Himmelspach also send along their condolences.

I will think of Alexis & you all on Feb. 2nd and beyond. May you have peace.
    Love, Margie

Although she struggled for years with her illness, her courage and determination were an inspiration. Her devotion to, and understanding of animals was deep and magical – I’m certain that many people and animals benefited from her gifts. She brought so much light to whatever situation she was in, and it is that light and her wonderful spirit which will be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
