Anton “Tony” Schmaltz, beloved husband of Vera Schmaltz of Beiseker, AB, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the age of 85 years.
Tony was born and lived his whole life in Beiseker. He was the Imperial Oil agent for twenty-six years and later became active in selling real estate in the area. Tony was a very active member of the Beiseker community. He received his life membership in the Beiseker Lions Club after being a member for over fifty-six years. Tony was also a life member of the Knights of Columbus. He served on Village Council from 1986 to 1992.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of nearly fifty-six years Vera; two sons, Harold (Jeannie) of Edmonton, AB and Rick (Kerry Lindsay) of Ottawa, ON; two daughters, Brenda of Calgary, AB and Patti (Keith) Bott of Coleman, AB; grandchildren, Rodney, Derek, Bennett, Jayda, and Jordi; and great-grandson Devin. He is also survived by his three sisters, Albina Schissel, Polly (Ernie) Cory of Calgary, and Barbara (Stan) Olsen of Kamloops, BC; and sister-in-law Isabelle Schmaltz of Calgary. Anton was predeceased by three brothers, Frank, Nick and Raymond.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (Beiseker, AB) on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (Beiseker, AB) on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery (Beiseker, AB). Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
