Charlie was born in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, Scotland and raised in the Huntly area. He wanted a new adventure so he travelled to Canada in the early 1950’s and hitchhiked across the country. After returning to Scotland, he met Helen in Laurencekirk, they married and with their daughter Moira immigrated to Canada. In 1996 they moved to Calgary to be closer to their family. Charlie had a wide variety of interests which included travelling, dancing and enjoying time spent with friends. Charlie’s greatest joy was his family.

He was predeceased by Helen, his loving wife of forty-nine years. He will live forever in the hearts of his daughters, Eileen Scatterty, Moira Hoffert, and Linda Werner; his sons-in-law, Larry Hoffert and Gordon Werner; his four cherished grandchildren, Jason Hoffert, Sarah Werner, Jennifer Hoffert, and Steven Werner. Your photo’s of your parents are a treasure
View them often always with pleasure
Just for a moment or even all day
    Then lovingly tuck them away
It could be a photo, or perhaps not
It may be just a wonderful thought
They brought you happiness right from the start
Memories are always close by in your heart.
