SAVAGE, Michael (Mike) John

January 22, 1952 – July 19, 2012

Mike Savage of Calgary passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the age of 60 years.

Mike was born in Calgary on January 22, 1952, the third son of George and Helen Savage. Mike attended Corpus Christi Elementary, St. Joseph’s and St. Margaret’s Junior High, and St. Francis High Schools. Mike met the love of his life, Judy Wong in his late teens. Mike and Judy were a perfect pair as they loved and supported one another through the many challenges of their lives. Mike was proud to say that he worked for the City of Calgary Roads Department and took pride in his hard work and would just shrug his shoulders at the way in which he weathered the elements and the heavy work. Mike taught us all how to love uniquely and challenged us to become better people… and we all hope we learned these lessons from him.

Mike is survived by his brother David Savage; sister-in-law Linda Savage; sister Corinne Crockett; brother-in-law Tom Crockett; and his nieces, Dawn Marie, Ninette, Stacey, Tami, Amanda, Lisa, and Jennifer. Mike was predeceased by Judy in 2008.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Michael Savage, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH Telephone: (403) 276-2296.

  3. Andrew Besserer :

Mike was always my hardest worker, over the past 25 years. While Mike had on-going issues with his health, whenever I had a choice, I picked him for my team. He will be long remembered by many, his pain has ended and he now has completed his journey here, to join his loving wife in eternal bliss. God bless his soul.. Andy

Mike — we spent a lot of time together as kids. Our mom’s were sisters so we are first cousins. Loved your dark curly hair. I know you brother David has been there for all of us. You are a McParlon Mike — that is where all the crazy stories come from. Please save me a place in heaven and rest in peace there. Love xox Sandy and family
