Condolence Messages

  1. Terry Lathangue :

Walter was a joy to share music with as we did many times over the years at The Kerby Centre. He was always a gentleman with a unique sense of humour and possessed the ability and talent to play not only his saxophone, but piano and banjo. Walter will be missed greatly by all those who shared music with him.

  4. Shirley Parize :

My sympathies to the family of Wolter, in the loss of a dear father. Wolter and I met at a jam session at the Earl of TV’s place. He invited me to come and hear the Roamers, where I met Pearl and Murray McCandless and their lively band where Wolter played tenor saxophone with George Runge playing alto. I began to sing with them for 5 years. Then Larry Proctor and I started our own band, and Wolter came to play with us when we had Melvn Crump playing drums, myself on piano, and myself and Larry singing. Wolter was a dear friend and I made many trips to see him perform at Bow Cliff Seniors, and Kerby Center, and visited him and Anne at home and later in Valleyview. Wolter always phoned to thank me for my newsletters and we had many fine chats. He will have a treasured place in my mind and heart. Sincerely, Shirley Parize.
