RUDOLPH, John

October 12, 1912 – December 13, 2012

It is with great sorrow that Mary Smith says farewell to her brother, life-long companion and friend, John, who passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the age of 100 years.

John was born in Oldham Lancashire England and during the Second World War worked as a machinist in an airplane factory. After immigrating to Canada in 1952, he worked as a machinist for CPR at the Ogden Shops in Calgary till his retirement in 1977.

Uncle John was like a second father to his nieces and nephews Peter (Robin) Smith, Sylvia (Don) Coverdale, Mary Lou (Frank) Brooks, John Rudolph, Bob (Nancy) Rudolph and Barney (Janice) Rudolph. He will also be sadly missed by his great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers James and Bryant and his sister Nellie.

Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made directly to the charity of the donors choice. The family extends many thanks to Dr. C. Ayers for years of support. Thanks also to Home Care Nurse Maurine McVicar and the care givers and staff at Arbour Lake Seniors Residence for five years of excellent care; and to the staff of Bethany Care Center for their compassion these last three months.

In living memory of John Rudolph, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park Cochrane by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot Chapel, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE N.W. Telephone: (403) 241-0044.
