RUDKIN, Frances Ellen (nee Mackett)

Frances’ time on earth, October 11, 1928 to September 22, 2013, ended in the family home surrounded by family, including her beloved dog Molly and granddog Bindi-Sue.

Frances was predeceased by her rascally partner in adventure and husband of over 60 years, R. Alan and will be missed by her children Gail Johnson, Jane Rudkin, Dr. David Rudkin, Dr. Bruce Rudkin (Annelieke) along with her six grand children.

I, Jane, as my mum’s executrix, will be providing a more detailed announcement at a later date. In addition, I am respecting my mum’s wishes that there will be no reception or services. Other family members may decide to have some form of private reception.

In living memory of Frances Rudkin, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

  1. Bessie Scott Bombardieri (RAH 46-1) :

I knew Fran through our Alumni, since she was five years behind me in training. I have many happy memories of your parents opening up their home for our spring B.B.Q. Your Mother was a gracious hostess and your Father manned the B.B.Q. for the hamburgers!! We always had great fun. They were very gracious, warm people. My late husband, Chic, worked at Esso Resources so we both knew your parents in different eras and environments. We both enjoyed hiking with them and meeting them at other Esso Club activities.
The loss of a parent or grandparent is always very difficult at any age.
With Sincere Sympathy in your loss of a lovely Mother and Grandmother.

Dear Jane and Rudkin Family, Though it has been many many years since I have seen you or your mother I still have fond memories of how well she treated us girls out at the cabin at Pigeon Lake. She was a great mother and you were lucky to have her. My heart goes out to you and your entire time at this tough time
