Mary Rubin of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 just days after her 91 birthday.

Mary was a lifetime member of Hadassah Wizo, ORT, N.C.H.W., and Women’s B’nai Brith of Ottawa, as well as a regular attendee on Shabbat at the Beth Tzedec Synagogue. Her early career in the twenties and thirties, prior to marriage, was as a traveling Sales Agent and Fashion Model for a women’s garment manufacturer in Ontario. She had strength and was resourceful and full of life all of her days.

She leaves to mourn and celebrate her life, her son Jeffrey Brian; her grandchildren, Noel and Moira Rubin of Vancouver; two brothers, Lawrence (Betty) and Jack (Shirley) Levy of Toronto; sister Goldie Nass of New York, sister-in-law Sadie Levy of Hamilton; and an extended family of many nieces and nephews in Ottawa, Toronto and Calgary. Mary was predeceased by her husband of sixty-one years, David Scott in 1986; her daughter Penny Fishman Rubin of Vancouver in 1988; and her daughter-in-law Katherine Mandin Rubin in 1999.
