Charlotte Rowan of Cochrane, passed away at the Bowcrest Nursing Home on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the age of 93 years.
Charlotte was born on February 24, 1919 in Kilkeel, Northern Ireland and immigrated with her family at the age of ten years to Dalroy, AB before settling in Bearspaw where she attended school. She married William (Curly) Rowan on February 4, 1944 and lived in Turner Valley before building their lifelong home in Brushy Ridge.
Charlotte is survived by her sister Agnes and her children, Jim (Diana), Eric (Elaine), Janice, Gary (June), Sam (Linda) and Don (Stacey). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charlotte was predeceased by her parents, Adelaide and William Scott, her husband Curly, her brothers, James, Samuel and William and her sisters, Anne and Margaret (Rose).
Memorial services will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church (1st Street East, Cochrane, AB) on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
