July 15, 1949 – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
March 7, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Doug on March 7th 2015, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer for five years.
Doug grew up in Saskatoon and as a child showed early passion and talent for drawing and painting which carried on into adulthood. He moved to Calgary in 1970, where he pursued a short career in drafting. Doug then moved on to fabricating signs of all sorts eventually starting his own business. He later pursued a brief career in the financial industry with WFG. Doug enjoyed the outdoors and participated in several sports including: hockey, skiing, football, tennis and hiking. He touched the hearts and souls of many people; living out his faith with a sense of humor, compassion for others, and great love for his family.
Doug will be remembered by Judy, his loving wife of forty-two years; his son Tyler (Allison), and their daughters, Noella, Eliza and Vienna; his son Quinn (Sarah), and their children, Emily, Mikayla, Isaiah, Israel, Jasher, Venus and Nathan. He is survived by his siblings, Darlene (Larry), Louise (Tim), Bernie, Dan, Boyd and Curtis and numerous nieces and nephews. Doug was predeceased by his parents, Hilton, Audrey and Lois; and siblings Wayne and Colleen.
