September 16, 1962 – August 26, 2012
William Rothlin of Calgary, AB passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the age of 49 years.
William, the second of three boys, was born to Marjorie and Joe Rothlin on September 16, 1962 in Calgary. He was known for his love of movies (particularly science fiction), his booming voice, and he always enjoyed a good laugh. William had a strong work ethic, and was proud of the work he did for many years as a Systems Analyst Technician with AM PM Services. William had a loving heart, and family was very important to him. Not having children of his own, he was very proud of his six nieces and nephews. He faithfully helped his mother through months of deteriorating health until her passing last October. William himself faced his cancer diagnosis this spring with courage, dignity and a strong will to live. He often expressed gratitude for all the love and support that he received from family, friends, neighbours and co-workers during this journey. William was a beloved son, brother and uncle, and will be missed. His family would like to express their profound gratitude to all the staff at the Agape Hospice in Calgary for the unconditional love and gentle care William received during the past several weeks.
William is survived by his brothers, Alan (Keziah) of Vancouver, BC, and David (Kari) Rothlin of Crowsnest Pass, AB; as well as nephews, Evan, Michael and Kuijerrn; and nieces, Chloe, Maeve and Malia. William was predeceased by his father Joseph in 2009 and his mother Marjorie in 2011.
