Rosenegger, Georg

October 15, 1923 – October 16, 2014

Georg Rosenegger, beloved husband of Sofia for 61 years (deceased February 19, 2009) and loving father of Lothar, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2014 in the comfort of his home.

George celebrated his 91st birthday the day before with his son Lothar and partner Lynn Merrithew along with grandsons Stephen and his spouse Rebecca Giffen and sons Jacob and Nolan, David Rosenegger and spouse Lisa Hoyte and son George, granddaughter Colleen Rosenegger and son Finn. Many long time and close friends also stopped by to celebrate with him and wish him well.

Georg is predeceased by his sister Agnes Schartner and brother Sebastian Rosenegger and is survived by his youngest sister, Rosa Bierwirt, all of Bavaria, Germany. He will also be remembered dearly by surviving cousins and nieces Renate and Franz Scheutzinger and Elfride Utschig and husband Karl, and great nephews Christan, Florian and Sebastian all from Traunwalchen, Germany.

Friends are invited to prayers and tributes at McInnis & Holloway’s Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle NW) on Tuesday October 21, 2014 at 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass and reception will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (541 Silvergrove Drive NW) on Wednesday October 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM with a private family graveside service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery (3219 4 Street NW).
