ROSE, Anna “Irene” (nee Smith)

January 14, 2015 – Calgary, AB

Irene Rose, beloved wife of Murray Rose, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the age of 88 years.

During her 88 years, Irene not only lived in Alberta, Nova Scotia and Scotland but appreciated her travels throughout North America and Europe. Provincial Champion wins with the Mannville Bluebird Fastball team, many awards in five and ten pin bowling, and a hole-in-one at Inglewood Golf Course were highlights of her sporting life. Although she enjoyed various volunteer pursuits, her greatest happiness was found in activities with family and friends.

Irene will be loved and missed by her husband of sixty-eight years, Murray; three children, Gayle, Don, and David (Kim); three grandchildren, Rachel (Joseph), Lue, and Ben (Pauline); two great-grandsons, Nicholas and Tyler; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, David and Rachel Smith; brothers, Jim (Audrey), David, Malcolm (Rheta), and John; sisters, Madge (David), Agnes, Ina and Jean.
