Debora Coleen Roppel (nee Paskell) passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at the Foothills Country Hospice at the age of 50 years, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Arcola, SK on March 30, 1959 to the late Frank and Dorothy Paskell, she later moved to Moosomin, SK where she began her family with Kevin Light in 1976 with the birth of her first daughter Kimberly. Kevin was tragically taken from them in 1981 and thereafter she married Gordon Roppel and was blessed with two more daughters, Brandy in 1986 and Danielle in 1989. In 1990 the family relocated to Calgary, AB where Debbie resided until her passing.
Debbie was a dedicated worker, extraordinary mother and a devoted grandmother. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Gordon; daughters, Kimberly (Jeff) Korek, Brandy (Blair Bellamy) and Danielle; her precious grandsons, Devon and Aston; her siblings, Harry (Carol) of Hudson Bay, SK, Dianne McGonigal of Moosomin, SK, Don (Sheri) of Calgary, AB, Eileen (Francis) McDougall of Moosomin, SK, Richard (Wanda) of Kamloops, BC, Leona (Darrell) Dereniwsky of Saskatoon, SK, Dwayne (Terri) of Moosomin, SK, and Robbie Tuffenull of Calgary, AB; in-laws Jack and Alice Light of Yorkton, SK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Debbie has requested that no funeral services be held as she did not want her daughters to suffer any longer. We shall respectfully follow her wishes. Rest peacefully Mom and be assured that you will be forever in our hearts. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
