  2. Dear Nancy and Family.
I was deeply saddened by the news of Colin’s passing. Our heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
I first met Colin when I was 24. I’d taken a piping design course at SAIT and applied for a new job at Richlyn Engineering. I got that job and the first day the owner took me to the back, introduced me to Colin and said “he’s all yours”. Colin gave me a simple piping job to do and after 4 hours I was both baffled and terrified. I went to Colin and told him I really didn’t know what I was doing. He said “that’s OK, have you ever done a building drawing before”.
Colin was my boss, friend and mentor for the next 30 years.
