ROLLINS, William “Bill” Wesley

Bill, beloved husband of the late Rita Lynn Rollins (nee Caplan) of Calgary, AB, passed away on July 28, 2013 at the age of 88 years.

Bill was born on December 1, 1924 in Wadena, SK; but lived in or around Calgary for most of his life. At the age of 18, Bill joined the Navy and served during World War II. He then attended the University of Manitoba where he studied Law. Bill married Rita on June 23, 1964 in Banff, AB. They went on to raise two sons and one daughter. Bill’s biggest passions were opera, classical and jazz music. As a young man he played the saxophone and trumpet in a jazz band. Bill also had a weakness for antique cars, dogs and of course chocolate. He will be deeply missed by all those that knew him.

Bill is survived by his two sons Sean (Shawna) and William; daughter Evvi-Lynn (Jaehee); four grandchildren Andrew, Michael, Holly and Lilly; and one great grandson. Bill was predeceased by his wife Rita; parents Nelles and Mary; and sister Phyllis.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through

    I was Mr. Bill Rollins’ secretary for about five years
    in the late 70’s, early 80’s. Not only was he the best
    employer I ever had but also one of the most honorable,
    kind, and intelligent people I ever knew. Not only that,
    but he had a great sense of humour and we laughed a
    lot when no clients were around. I did not know that
    Rita had died. The children have my deepest sympathy
    having lost both parents.
