  2. Joan and family,
Please accept most sincere condolences from Sharon and me at this very sad time. Buck and I went back in time to our recruit training in 1960 when we formed a strong and lasting friendship. He was a gentleman, a fine soldier and a great mess mate. I’m glad we had that brief time together in 2008 to renew our friendship. The world is a poorer place without him.

    Joan and Family,

Very sorry to hear of Buck”s passing. I can still recall the photo of Buck exiting a Flying Boxcar with his jumping teddy bear under his arm.

He will now be welcomed into the PPCLI/Airborne Celestial Chapter by Rick Caesar and the other fine Patricia’s that proceeded him.

    Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,

    Joan, Mike and Peggy
As you well know, Bob and I go back to 1955 as roudy teenagers in Shilo, Manitoba. He was a wonderful friend then and we remained close through our early years in Cadets, Militia, respective Regimental duty and, of course, Airborne. As “military brats” we don’t get to see each other much, but I will always remember Bob with great respect for all he accomplished. My most sincere condolences to the Rodgers family at this sad time.

    Mike

  19. J. R. Digger MacDougall :

Nancy and I were saddened to learn of Bob’s passing.
It seems like only yesterday when we were enjoying each other’s company and solving the problems of the world. Bob was a great colleague in the Personnel Selection Branch because he had an combat operations background that lent itself to the then (limited) experiencial base of the Branch. We are all richer for having shared a bit of Bob’s life and he will be missed. Nancy and I extend our condolences to former PSel colleague Mike and our sympathy to all Rogers family members. May God grant his soul eternal rest.
Nancy and I have made a donation to Sing Canada Harmony to honour the memory of Bob Rogers.
