ROCHE, Josephine Mary “Jo”

March 12, 1929 – Hamilton, ON
August 18, 2013 – Didsbury, AB

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Josephine Mary Roche on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Didsbury Hospital.

Jo was born in Hamilton, Ontario on March 12, 1929. Jo married Pat on July 1, 1950 and thus began a sixty-three year adventure. They moved around Ontario and lived in Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Grimsby, Niagara Falls, Simcoe, and Thunder Bay. They moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba when they retired and finally Airdrie, AB where they spent the last twenty years. Jo was a CWL member for fifty-eight years and was very involved for a good number of those years.

Jo will be missed by her loving family – husband Pat; children Kevin, Mary Pat, Kathy Pelland (Ken) and Tom (Velvet); grandchildren, Michael, Karsten, Regen, Lachlan, Stephanie and Mary; sisters, Sister Ignatius and Sister Joan McLoughlin of Hamilton; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Agnes and Tom McLoughlin; brothers John and Tom; and sister, Sister Anne McLoughlin.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at ST. PAUL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1305 Main Street, Airdrie, AB, at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, donations to the Airdrie & District Hospice Society or the Rosebud Health Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Special thanks to all the staff at Didsbury Hospital Unit 1 and Unit 2 for the wonderful care that Mom received over the last few months. Thanks also to the staff of Airdrie Home Care, Airdrie Day Support Program, the Olds & District Hospice Society and “A Friend Indeed” for their support.

In living memory of Josephine Roche, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park Cochrane by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Airdrie Funeral Home, 300 TOWERLANE DRIVE, AIRDRIE, AB. Telephone: (403) 948 1100
