ROBERTSON, Raymond David

January 7, 1950 – July 10, 2012

The sisters and brother of Raymond David Robertson regretfully announce that Ray died on July 10, 2012, at age 62. (He had been predeceased by brother, John in 2004).

Ray retired to Calgary in 1999, after working for twenty-nine years as a bus mechanic with the TTC in Toronto. He devoted much time and energy participating in the programs and fellowship of AA, members of which became his second family. Their visits, calls and cards were always appreciated. Ray was a member of Bowness Legion where he enjoyed karaoke. We are grateful for the many professionals who helped him through his long hospitalization at Foothills, Rockyview and Carewest Glenmore, with special thanks to the ICU staffs, the intensivists and the wonderful Dr. Teresa Keiser, who made the impossible possible and gave Ray, and us, the last seven months.

Ray’s life will be celebrated at a later date and Martha, Irene and Doug Robertson, along with other family, hope to meet many of his friends at that time. Forward condolences through Charitable donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association in Ray’s memory. Flowers gratefully declined.

In living memory of Raymond Robertson, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: (403) 256-9575.
