ROBERTSON – James “Jim” William

August 4, 1931 – September 29, 2010

Jim Robertson, beloved husband of Valerie of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the age of 79 years after a long, courageous battle with lung disease.

Jim was a family man with a love for life and a passion for curling and camping. He enjoyed a successful career at the Bank of Montreal for forty-six years, retiring in 1995.

He is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife of thirty-four years Valerie; his five children, Sharon (David), Jeff, Judy, Heather, and Brad (Kris); four grandchildren, Melissa (Grant), Erin (Tyson), Jennifer, and John; and siblings, Earle (Carole), Nancy (Len), Janet (David), and David (Judy). Jim was predeceased by his mother Jeanne; father Grant; and siblings, Joan and Mary.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.     We are sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. His Aunt Edythe remembers being his first babysitter while everyone else went to her grandmother’s funeral and him being her first nephew. He was just born and she remembers him making funny noises.

    She always called Jim ‘my white haired boy’.

    Phyllis remembers him as a man all gown up while she was still growing. To her he was one of 8 first cousins who were part of her extended family.
