  1. Robin Hoogwerf :

    Dear Richards Family,

I am so very saddened to hear of Herb’s passing. Please accept my deepest condolences. I enjoyed our chats over the fence and appreciated the repair advice Herb would pass along to me. My father and Herb enjoyed chats as well as they were both men who had worked with their hands for a living and enjoyed re-working or salvaging items. The neighborhood hasn’t been the same since Herb and Isa moved away. I neglected to keep in touch with Herb and Isa after they moved and I’m sorry I did.

My beloved Bella passed away a few months ago and my grief is still quite fresh so I know the pain you are all feeling right now. Bella would bark at the moon and at the dog down the alley but she never barked at Herb and Herb never minded the noise she made. God bless Herb for being so patient with her.

May all the memories keep you safe through this difficult time. Herb was a kind, thoughtful and gentle man.

    Robin Hoogwerf
