Condolence Messages

  1. Nadine Sandercock :

    Dear Lynn,
I have often re-told the story of meeting you and learning of your father’s connection to the Sandercock family (or really more accurately, of Lily’s connection to him). For me, their story is a fascinating telling of early Saskatchewan-pioneer life and indomitable spirit of the people of that time. May fond memories carry you and your family through this period of sadness.
    Nadine

  3. Javonne Miller :

Dear Vera – I was so sorry to read of Sid’s passing in the Leader-Post yesterday. My deepest sympathy to you and your daughter and family. I enjoyed meeting you and Sid through our mutual friend Mazel. I remember Sid as such a fine gentle man and especially his music with the orchestra when they entertained seniors at local shopping centers. You will all miss him not only as a husband father and grandfather but as a very special man. You are in my thoughts and prayers- Sincerely Javonne

  4. Evelyn Petroski :

Dear Vera and Lynn and family, I was so sorry to hear that Sid had passed away, I knew he was quite ill and I hope he was not suffering too much but now he is free from all pain and happy with his Lord. He was such a good neighbour and always there to help when I needed him. I could call on him if I needed help and I did quite a few times. He was the best neighbour ever and always ready to help all those around. With his trusty snow blower he kept the sidewalks clear. You are in my thoughts and prayers and we will be contacting you soon. Evelyn

  5. Mary-Lynne Gillespie (Petroski) :

Dear Vera and Lynn, I was so sorry to hear that Sid had passed away. He was such a friendly man with a big smile and gentle manner. I remember babysitting Lynn (now all grown up and a Mom herself) and generally visiting as Sid worked in his yard. I still remember how fabulous his garden was as viewed enviously from the back lane. The world is a better place because he was in it. Kindness and gentleness are often forgotten in our frantic way of life and breakneck speed. I am glad that you, Lynn had him in Calgary with you for as many years as you did. I know you were very close to your dad. I will think fondly of your dad and will keep you, Vera and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Mary-Lynne
