RABONE, G. Lewis

January 25, 2014 – Calgary, AB

G. Lewis Rabone, beloved husband of Cora of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the age of 90 years.

George served with the Royal Canadian Air Force Bomber Command, 408 Goose Squadron and completed a tour of operations. He was appointed General Manager of the Calgary Professional Club from 1960-1984, a member of the 264 Canadian Legion and National President of Canadian Club Managers Society as well as a honorary life member of both the Alberta Branch 7 and the National Society. He retired at the age of 63, and spent forty summers at Lake Windermere. He had a great 90 years.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Cora, whom he married in 1945. They had three wonderful children, Barbara of Calgary, Tom of Spur Valley, BC and Gordon (Marouli) of Calgary.

At Lewis’ request, a private family service will be held at a later date.
