Doreen Pye, beloved wife of Bud Pye of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the age of 79 years.
Our beloved Peenie was a true child of the oil industry. Born at the Calgary General Hospital and raised at the Royalties Lease near Longview, AB. After attending Crescent Heights High School she was hired and trained by Mobil Oil where she met the love of her life Bud. Doreen spent thirty-five years in the oil and gas industry and was highly regarded by her peers. Throughout her life they were worldwide travellers with Bud the planner and Doreen, with her friendly smile, their ambassador. After retirement Doreen enjoyed golf, sun and beer in Arizona.
Doreen is survived by her nephew Erroll (Lillian) Hautzinger; niece Lana (Kent) Barrett and their children Michael, Ali and Jeff; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ron and Aubrea Pye and family; sister-in-law Eleanor Pye and family. She was predeceased by her parents Roy Sr. and Belle Hautzinger; two brothers and sisters-in-law Roy and Una Hautzinger and David and Luella Hautzinger; and her brother-in-law Stan Pye.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Bud wishes to thank their many friends and family, especially Lynn, Kelly and Lana for their loving support shown during Doreen’s five year struggle with Alzheimer’s.
