Reinhold Przeczek beloved husband of Herta of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the age of 89 years. Reinhold was born in Sternberg, Czechoslovakia. Reinhold immigrated to Canada in 1940 and homesteaded in the Tupper Creek/Tomslake area of British Columbia. He enlisted in the Canadian army in 1941 and served first as a shooting instructor and later, while overseas, with the Canadian Intelligence Service. Shortly thereafter he joined the Calgary Police Service becoming the first officer of non-British decent to be hired by the service. Never one to let the grass grow under his feet, Reinhold was active with the Calgary Highlanders, the International Police Association and the Calgary Police Veterans Association. He also travelled extensively, played a mean game of bridge, and volunteered as a White Hatter at the Calgary International Airport.
