Condolence Messages

  1. I was the first person to meet Andy, when he came to volunteer at Heritage Park. He was a gentleman and a “gentle man”, who was always considerate of others, helpful, courteous, artistic, personable and friendly. And I know he loved all his grandchildren VERY MUCH!
Andy was a volunteer in many areas of Heritage Park. One time I recall hosting a Volunteer Orientation for our Christmas Special Event and Andy phoned me to offer one of his beautiful stained glass angels for a door prize. He enjoyed giving, doing walking tours and wagon tours at the Park and helping at most of the Special Events. He will be missed!

  2. I was sorry to have heard of Andre’s passing. I was thinking of him quite recently. I met your father(and mom) many years ago at the church Christmas sale. As a result, my house has many stain glass pieces made by him. I was a fan of his work and always enjoyed my visits them both. He will always be shining in my windows and no doubt throughout the city.
    His spirit will soar forever.
    God Bless.
    Lisa Wilson

  4. Josette & Catherine Prost :

Twenty years ago, we enjoyed a marvellous journey in Canada with Andre, Betty and the Prost family. We remember Andre driving the car and choosing for us the most interesting places to see. He was so kind with us. He was always happy . And we could see how the family, the children and grandchildren, were important for him. Here in France we also have stain glass pieces made by Andre. We will never forget him. We are thinking of you, children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters of Andre and all the Prost family in Canada.
    God bless.
    Josette & Catherine Prost, France.

  6. Ron Cottom and Leona Day :

We were so sorry to read about Andy’s passing in the Cold Lake Sun and extend our deepest sympathy to your family. Andy was such a joy to be with – always happy and that twinkle in his eyes ever present. He allowed no gathering to be dull or boring. You may recall that your Mom and Dad graciously acted as the attendants at our wedding here in Cold Lake 30 years ago. We have so many good memories of them. Andy loved you all so very much and never failed to proudly convey your achievements in his Christmas letters. May God be with you.

The passing of your father makes us very sad. We did not know that he was so sick. We often speak of “Canada”, remembering your stays in France, in Lollière with your grand father Uncle Clement more than 40 years ago, and our travel to Canada where we have been so warmly welcomed by all the family wo did his best to show us beautiful places et to organize family reunions so that we meet each other around good meals. We have brought back so many good memories. Among them, there is the discovering of the Buffalo national park with your parents and the visit of the Calgary heritage park where Andre was volunteer… Only 2 among many other good memories with them. Your father was also a very creative man. We could admire the stain glass works he made in his workroom and we have brought back to France some beautiful angels…. The family was very important for him, his grand children specially as we could see through his Christmas letters that we were always happy to read and that we will miss.
We think of you children and grand children and of all the family of Canada.
    Anne et Yvonne Granjon
