PRIMEAU – James Alfred (Jim)

May 3, 1930 – January 25, 2011

Jim Primeau, beloved husband and father, passed away January 25th, 2011. Jim was born on May 3rd, 1930 in Calgary.

He grew up on his family’s ranch south of Pincher Creek. Jim loved country life and people. Ever the story teller and joker, Jim loved to share stories of the ranch, of his friends and later of his children. Moving to Calgary in the 1960s, his resourcefulness and optimism enabled him to start his own welding business. Jim’s main source of pride was his family. He is survived by his wife Anne (Sikina) and their two children, Tammy Jo and Alphie. Jim is also survived by his loving sister Nieves Brister of Pincher Creek and his niece Joy Ann Skirka of Pittsburgh. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, his honesty, his gentle heart and his independent spirit.

A celebration of Jim’s life was held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 2:30 p.m.

A special thank you to the Parkinson’s Society, Dr. Verbeek and especially to the staff at Father Lacombe Care Centre for their dedication and care of Jim over the past four years.

If friends and family so desire memorial tributes can be made to the Father Lacombe Home Society, 332 – 146 Avenue, SE. Calgary, AB.

In living memory of Jim Primeau, a tree will be planted in Fish Creek Provincial Park.

“Tomorrow is wood, Yesterday is ashes. Only today does the flame burn brightly.”

Offer Condolence for the family of PRIMEAU – James Alfred (Jim)

  11. Alphie,

It has been a long time and am very sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. He was always very good to me and I seem to remember a dry (maybe unintentional sometimes?) sense of humour.

Hope you & the family are doing okay & it would be good to hear from you.
    Take care, my friend.
    Mike.
